Rules and Regulations

COMPETITION DETAIL

  • A maximum of 6 players per team is allowed on the court.In Mixed competition two of the six players must be female and should a team only have one female they can still only play four males.
  • There is no limit on interchange players provided they are registered team members.
  • Graded competitions are offered for Men,Mixed ,Women and Juniors (Upper Primary School and High School).Games are of 2 x 22minute halves with a 2 minute half-time.
  • On receipt of the Registration Fee players have Public Liability,Professional Indemnity and Personal Accident Insurance cover.
  • Referees are the sole arbitrators and official scorers for all games.Central timing is used and timing starts two minutes after the advertised starting time.
  • Competition rosters are of fifteen matches including finals. Three competitions are conducted annually and start in March; July and November but teams can join in the competition at anytime.
  • Costs include a Registration Fee and Playing Fee.There is a graded scale of Playing Fees from Juniors through to Adults. (refer to competition entry details for the actual costs).
  • A No Pay-No Play policy applies to all players.No points are awarded if the full Playing Fee is not paid but points can be redeemed on receipt of outstanding fees. Unfinancial teams are not eligible for finals.
  • Finals are conducted in round fifteen between the top two ladder teams at the end of fourteen matches. Ladder points are allocated for a win, loss, draw and forfeit.Should a Grand Final be drawn, the Premiership is shared.
  • Fill-in Policy: a team must have four registered players to constitute a team otherwise a forfeit is recorded. Fill-ins are allowed but they cannot score goals and they are not permitted to play in finals unless in extreme circumstances and only with the approval of the opposing team.Once a fill-in has played three games with the same team they automatically become a member of that team and are required to register.

PLAYING RULES

  • Play is conducted by generally accepted indoor soccer rules, with modifications, where deemed appropriate for the playing arena and and in the interests of maintaining a safe playing environment
  • A special indoor ball (furry) is used exclusively for Mixed, Female and Junior competitions whilst a leather ball, size five is used for Mens.
  • A slide tackle is illegal
  • Goals can only be scored from a kick or header taken from within the forward half.
  • Direct and indirect kicks are awarded at the direction of the Referee for a variety of rule infringements.
  • Players can be disqualified from a match for a nominated period of time,(Yellow Card) at the Referees discretion, for a range of offences bringing the game into disrepute, or for repeatedly breaking rules or for safety reasons.
  • A full disqualification (Red Card) from the game receives an automatic one(1) game suspension.For more serious reported offences, Management reserves the right to impose further penalties and there is no right of appeal .
